Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy that relieves pain, improves movement, and supports your body’s natural healing. Ideal for chronic pain, injuries, or tension—restoring balance so you can feel and move better.
WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a hands on form of manual therapy which looks at the body as a whole
and how its structure and function work together, by doing so this enables different
areas of the body to be assessed in order to find the root cause of the issue.
Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages and tailored for each person’s individual
needs. A wide range of techniques are used within osteopathy from stronger
manipulation to gentle techniques in combination with mobility and strengthening
exercises all of which are tailored to their specific needs.
Meet Edward – Registered Osteopath
Edward first discovered osteopathy as a child and later, during his teenage years playing sport, his interest grew deeper. Experiencing first-hand how hands-on osteopathic treatment and rehabilitation helped him return to sport inspired him to pursue a career in the field.
He completed his Master’s degree in Osteopathy in 2021 at the European School of Osteopathy. Alongside his studies, Edward also earned a Level 3 ITEC qualification in Sports Massage.
Edward enjoys working with a wide range of patients — from teenagers to the elderly — always tailoring his approach to meet each individual’s needs. He believes strongly in educating patients not only on managing pain but also on building healthy habits to support their bodies even when pain-free.
Having previously competed as a semi-professional footballer and now an avid single-handicap golfer, Edward is passionate about integrating exercise and rehabilitation into treatment as a foundation for more effective, long-term recovery.
He is a registered Osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council (GoSC).
Initial Consultation
Your first appointment will include:
-
Detailed case history: An in-depth conversation about your current symptoms, medical history, occupation, lifestyle, and physical activities.
-
Physical examination: With your consent, a full examination will be carried out. Depending on your area of pain, you may be asked to perform specific movements and tests to help identify the root cause of the issue.
-
Hands-on assessment: The osteopath will use advanced palpation techniques to check for tenderness, restrictions, or weaknesses. Additional orthopaedic or neurological testing may be carried out if necessary.
Once the examination is complete and all information has been reviewed, your osteopath will explain their diagnosis and present a tailored treatment and management plan.
If there are any concerns about a non-mechanical or more serious underlying condition — or if osteopathic treatment is not appropriate — you will be referred to the relevant healthcare specialist.
Please wear comfortable, loose clothing that you can change into for the examination and treatment.

Treatment Plans
Every patient is unique, and so is their treatment journey.
While some individuals may feel relief after just one session, others may require a course of treatments over time or periodic sessions as part of a long-term maintenance plan for ongoing care and prevention.
There is no fixed number of treatments. Your plan will be based entirely on your progress, your body’s response, and your individual needs — not a predetermined schedule.
